UBUDIAH MOSQUE

Ubudiah mosque is also called Perak Royal Mosque located in the Royal town of Kuala Kangsar, Perak. The town was called by Royal Town because Sultan of Perak lives in Kuala Kangsar. That is the reason why they call the state of Kuala Kangsar as The Royal Town. About the Ubudiah Mosque, it is ranking high listed of Malaysia for the most beautiful mosque in Malaysia.

The building was design by Arthur Benison Hubback and was built in year 1917. This building was built because of the ordered of Sultan Idris Murshidul'adzam Shah for vowed that he had made for his sickness. Sultan vowed tat he would built mosque if he recovered from the illness that he had faced. According to the story told by the people, he not recovered his illness for such a long time. After he made the vowed, he recovered from his illness, and then for the feel grateful he fulfils his vowed.

According to the history, the construction has interrupted for much time because of the two elephant belonging to Raja Chulan disturbing the construction of the building. The two of the elephant were fighting and damage the imported Italian marbles that was ordered for the construction.  However, the construction was completed in late 1917.

The total of the construction is around RM 200 000. The building is officially declared by Sultan Abdul Jalil Karamtullah Shah. As we can see, the construction of the building is symbolizing the Islamic culture because the materials and carving is reflecting to it. The important things are the mosque is the symbol of great pride to all Muslim in Perak Darul Ridzuan.

The mosque is beautifully constructed with golden dome and minarets that can attract people to visit the mosque. Furthermore, the most interesting facts is every Friday, mostly many people will entered the mosque for praying. That is very interesting to see many race that same religion become as one when entering mosque.
