MALAYSIAN CULTURE

Malaysian Culture
Malaysia has been nominated for the uniqueness country filled with variety culture race religion and traditions. But, first I would like to introduce myself; my name is Nur Adibah binti Saiful Bahkri from Hm1113B and my ID number 2011866586. To my beloved friends and lecturer there is some information I would to share and hopefully it is will make you understand more about our beautiful country. There is major race in Malaysia which is Malay, India and China. Didn’t you ever thing that how Malaysian people can be so united but somehow there from different background and religion. The secret is just to respect each other and one another. Furthermore they are celebrating festival together. Open house or in malay “Rumah Terbuka” is the platform whereby the hostess will invited their guests to their home and serve with variety of traditional food. For malay celebration which is Hari Raya or Eid Mubarak they will serve the main dishes is lemang, ketupat , rendang lodeh and some kuih raya. It is such beautiful harmony when all race and different religion celebrating one festive together. For Indian and people will celebrating Deepavali day and for Chinese they will celebrating Chinese New year and they will used the same concept which is rumah terbuka. You can see that a lot of advantage and positive impact when we share and enjoy each other festival beside of to create a closed relationship to each other.  We should maintain this kind of celebrations to continuously stay in peaceful country.

However, beside us enjoying each other festive there is some Malaysian used to sit and watch football when it is come football season at Kedai Mamak or Mamak stall. People of all races, religions and ages frequent mamak stalls to gossip or catch a late-night football game while enjoying a cup of hot teh tarik or kopitiam. There is so many food that you can find in mamak stall which is roti canai, roti telur, mee goreng mamak, roti nan and so many more. Some of the mamak stalls also provide nasi kandar which is well known at mamak stall Penang. Milo Ais mamak are the best among the best taste in Malaysia. Once you enter and taste food in Mamak stall you will never regret it because the price is affordable to all Malaysian nowadays. However, you still can taste western food which is they will serve you if you request it.  What makes mamak stall become the most attractive palace for Malaysian to seat and spend their time there is because Mamak stall operated 24 hours per day. The staff in mamak stall will do their work effectively by serve customer food within 15 minute after they take order. Modern mamak stalls attempt to retain the charm of open air dining of its predecessors by setting up tables on a patio, the shop lot’s walkway or even on the street. Nevertheless, all mamak stalls provide a casual ambiance and affordable food to locals who need a place to unwind or socialize. They will seat together with no worries and enjoying late night scenery with their friends or family. That why make Malaysia so peaceful because we filled with harmonic activity together.

In the nutshell, every year, millions of Malaysians leave Klang Valley and travel back to their hometowns during Hari Raya or Chinese New Year. The massive exodus is reminiscent of biblical times. Hundreds and thousands of cars, along with express buses and motorcycles plug the highways and trunk roads, turning them into massive parking lots. Trains and airports too will be poring over with home-bound travellers. During this time, much of the Klang Valley, especially Kuala Lumpur, will be empty. Shops and restaurants will be closed, and for the only time in the year, traffic will be amazingly smooth. They will celebrate Hari Raya or Chinese New Year with their family in their hometowns. Klang Valley will extremly change into the slowest city in the country because all urban people will no longer stay their home for a week. The purpose they living their home for a long period is because they would like to feel the excitement celebrating the day with their big family in village. Usually, they will gather around and help each other preparing the dishes to serve to their guests. One of the examples is ‘Dodol’ which is coconutmilik mix with brown sugar. The main dishes in every single house need to serve this to their guests when the Hari Raya day held. When we are helping each other to prepare food or tidy up our home it is the best way to get closed with our family members. This is the one good thing we should know to maintain our good relationship with each other. We need each other and from that we care about each other so that Malaysia can be so united and been respected from other country in the world. We should proud to be Malaysian. Malaysia Boleh !
