Hello everyone. Welcome to Maxwell Hill Taiping, Perak. I'm Siti Norhanim bt Mohd Rosli from Hm1113b1. I'm going to introduce you this Maxwell Hill. In bahasa malaysia people call it Bukit Larut. Reason why I write about this place is because I come from Taiping so I know a little thing about this place. So, I will write based on my experience.

First of all, lets talk about the history of this hill. It was established on 1884 by William Edward Maxwell. He was the assistant of British Resident of Perak. It is actually to cater the needs of the colonial official who need a break from the heat of the lowland. For your information, this place hold the record of the wettest place in Malaysia. So Taiping always rain. The daily temperature range is from 10 to 25 degree celcius.

I have been there so many times. Maxwell Hill is located 3km from Taiping Town. It is the Malaysia oldest and smallest hill resort. It is accessible only by four-wheel drive service. The four-wheel drive will take time around 25minutes. To those who love to hiking can climb this hill by the track provided. For hiking, it will take around 2hours 45minutes one way.

The resort at 1038m give you opportunity to see the panoramic view from the top. You can see view up to Pulau Pangkor. Even on a fine day, you can see Penang Island. The recreation park and many types of flower attract many tourists. The most popular flower is tulips. Those who love tulips can visits tulips farm. This tulip farm is located at Cendana Bungalow on Bukit Larut. It has a special air-conditioned room for brainstorming, and once the plant matures, it will be brought into the greenhouse to bloom.Tulip also do not follow the normal spring cycle, otherwise, it flowers 2-3 months after plantation, in Malaysia, one can get tulip twice a year, one in the period from December to February and the second in July. For the entrance to tulips farm is only RM1 for non tulip season and RM2 for tulip season. Besides tulips, other flowers are dasies, marigold, roses, dahlia and also sunflowers.

Types of bungalow available at this resort are Tempinis (treacher). It have 4 rooms and for 10pax. The price is RM100. Next is Beringin(watson), it have 2 rooms and for 8pax. It cost you RM150. Then is Rumah Rehat Bukit Larut. Lastly is Rumah Rehat Gunung Hijau (speedy chalet house).Both of this bungalow contain 4rooms for 8pax. It quite affordable only at RM60. But if you come here, you must bring everything. Your own food to cook. Usually people just bring a fast food such as maggi.

Don't forget after you going down the hill, You must drop to the Lake Garden Taiping and also Taiping Zoo. Lake Garden have a beautiful scenery. It is the recreation park for public use. All of this place are symbolize

Taiping Town. This is because, if people talk about Taiping, automatically we will imagined the Lake Garden and Taiping Zoo.
