Petronas Twin Tower / KLCC

Malaysia is one of the top tourist destinations in Asia. Besides being known for its multiracial country, what drawn people to visit our country is of course the beautiful and breath taking nature as well as the interesting tourist destinations and attractions. The must-see destination once you are in Malaysia is of course the Petronas Twin Tower KLCC which is the pride of many Malaysians.

Kuala Lumpur City Centre or KLCC for short is located in Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle. To be exact, it is located in Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur. This 88-storey building was completed in 1997 and was open to public on the National Day of Malaysia, 31st August 1999 by the fourth Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir. The Petronas Twin Towers was the tallest building in the world from 1 January 1998 to 31 December 2004 and currently, it still holds the record for the tallest twin buildings in the world.

Tourists are promised infinite joy and fun when visiting KLCC as there are a lot of attractions in here. There’s a shopping mall, Suria KLCC which is also part of KLCC building. The five level shopping mall consist of mostly international brands such as Channel, Topshop, Mark & Spencer, iSETAN and many well known restaurants such as Malones, Apartment, Ben’s and Chili’s. So shopping in Suria KLCC is a must since there’s variety of international as well as local brands in one building making shopping much easier. After tired of shopping from doors to doors on each level, you can dine in to any restaurants located mostly on the Lower Ground, 2nd Level and 4th Level.

Besides that, there’s a TGV cinema on the 3rd Level and the largest bookstore in Kuala Lumpur, Kinokuniya on the Level 4. Another interesting attraction you can find in Suria KLCC is the interactive technology exhibition or museum, Petrosains by Petronas on the Level 4 as well.

Here at Lower Ground Level you can also find the KLCC Aquaria, a state-of-the-art oceanarium. There is even the possibility to dive with sharks here. It operates daily from 11 am – 8 pm and with an entrance fees of RM45 (RM35 for Malaysians) for adult and RM35 (RM25 for Malaysians) for children, everyone can enjoy the huge aquarium filled with aquatic animals.

Stepping outside from the Suria KLCC mall is a beautifully landscaped KLCC Park. The 50 acres tropical landscape with programmed water fountains, playground, swimming pool and jogging track is another hotspot for the local people and tourists. The beautiful greenery park is very suitable for taking pictures and also picnic as there is a huge playground and swimming pool for children.

The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre’s world-class facilities are supported by a wide range of amenities to ensure the needs of visitors and delegates alike are taken care of. There’s a prayer room located on each floor of Suria KLCC mall, ATM machines, parenting room, concierge, public telephones, money changer, convenience kiosk, support facilities, registration counter, freight lift and parking space.

Now, with a new bridge from the entrance of KLCC Conventions Center (just above the KLCC Aquaria) there is a covered and air-conditioned pedestrian bridge to the Pavilion Shopping Mall in Bukit Bintang. Thus, using the underground tunnel between Suria KLCC and the convention centre and then using the pedestrian bridge you can make it from Suria KLCC to Pavilion Shopping Mall with distance of 2km without being exposed to rain or heat. Visitors can also take a train and stop at KLCC station or by cab, car or even bus. But it is more preferable to walk as you can also visit other interesting attractions nearby since Kuala Lumpur is small so all the places are just walking distance.

The Petronas Twin Towers or KLCC are definitely a must for any visit to Kuala Lumpur. One’s visit to Kuala Lumpur is not complete without a visit to this beautiful place that’s located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.
