Sabah is one of the states in Malaysia that has many interesting places that we can go. The famous attraction at Sabah is Mount Kinabalu. There are histories about this mountain. Local people believe that their ancestors’ spirits inhabit at there. They will sacrifice the chicken every time they reach at the peak of the mountain, but today they will sacrifice only seven chickens in a year. Mount Kinabalu is the tallest mountain in the South-East Asia. It is located at Kinabalu National Park.
Besides that, it is easier for tourists to reach there from Kota Kinabalu. We can take public transport to go there. Mount Kinabalu is the easiest mountain that we can climb because we do not need some skills about climbing. We just need appropriate tools and clothes to climb this mountain. It is usually take two days to climb up and down of the mountain. We can take a break at Laban Rata. We can stay at Laban Rata’s guest house.
At Mount Kinabalu, we can see many species flora and fauna that we can found at there. The biggest flower in the world also has at Mount Kinabalu which is the Rafflesia. Besides that, we can see many types of pitcher plant at Kinabalu National Park. Because of the presence of the Mount Kinabalu, there are variety species of bird, animal, insect and plant found at there.
In addition, the best time to climb is in April, November and December is the rainy season. Bus is provided to take the climber from the National Park to the actual place for climbing. Climbers usually take a break at Laban Rata before continue their climb at early hour because they want to see a sunrise. Tourists will face a lot of challenging tracks and tourists usually do some exercise before climb the mountain. The trail after Laban Rata is difficult.
Lastly, the fee for entrance for Malaysian and tourists is different based on the activity that they want to take. For those who love challenging activity, Mount Kinabalu is the best place to go and aside from that, we can see the natural environment and take a fresh air at
